چکیده

Many real-world tasks require making decisions that involve multiple possibly conflicting objectives. To succeed in such tasks, intelligent systems need planning or learning algorithms that can e ciently find di↵erent ways of balancing the trade-o↵s that such objectives present. In this tutorial, we provide an introduction to decision-theoretic approaches to coping with multiple objectives. We first present an overview of multi-objective decision problems, with real-world examples. Then, we show that di↵erent assumptions about these problems lead to di↵erent solution concepts such as the convex hull and the Pareto front. Next, we provide an overview of state-of-the-art algorithms for tackling them, such as multi-objective variants of dynamic programming. Finally, we highlight some applications of multiobjective methods and discuss some of the most important open questions.

The multi-objective decision making methods based on MULTIMOORA and MOOSRA for the laptop selection problem

A decision making process requires the values of conflicting objectives for alternatives and the selection of the best alternative according to the needs of decision makers. Multi-objective optimization methods may provide solution for this selection. In this paper it is aimed to present the laptop selection problem based on MOORA plus full multiplicative form (MULTIMOORA) and multi-objective o...

A New Compromise Decision-making Model based on TOPSIS and VIKOR for Solving Multi-objective Large-scale Programming Problems with a Block Angular Structure under Uncertainty

This paper proposes a compromise model, based on a new method, to solve the multi-objective large-scale linear programming (MOLSLP) problems with block angular structure involving fuzzy parameters. The problem involves fuzzy parameters in the objective functions and constraints. In this compromise programming method, two concepts are considered simultaneously. First of them is that the optimal ...

A TAYLOR SERIES APPROACH FOR SOLVING LINEAR FRACTIONAL DECENTRALIZED BI-LEVEL MULTI-OBJECTIVE DECISION-MAKING UNDER FUZZINESS

This paper presents a Taylor series approach for solving linear fractional de-centralized bi-level multi-objective decision-making (LFDBL-MODM) problems with asingle decision maker at the upper level and multiple decision makers at the lower level. In the proposed approach, the membership functions associated with each objective(s) ofthe level(s) of LFDBL-MODM are transformed by using a Taylor s...

A Tabu Search Method for a New Bi-Objective Open Shop Scheduling Problem by a Fuzzy Multi-Objective Decision Making Approach (RESEARCH NOTE)

This paper proposes a novel, bi-objective mixed-integer mathematical programming for an open shop scheduling problem (OSSP) that minimizes the mean tardiness and the mean completion time. To obtain the efficient (Pareto-optimal) solutions, a fuzzy multi-objective decision making (fuzzy MODM) approach is applied. By the use of this approach, the related auxiliary single objective formulation can...

Constrained consumable resource allocation in alternative stochastic networks via multi-objective decision making

Many real projects complete through the realization of one and only one path of various possible network paths. Here, these networks are called alternative stochastic networks (ASNs). It is supposed that the nodes of considered network are probabilistic with exclusive-or receiver and exclusive-or emitter. First, an analytical approach is proposed to simplify the structure of t...

A bi-level linear multi-objective decision making model with interval coefficients for supply chain coordination

Abstract: Bi-level programming, a tool for modeling decentralized decisions, consists of the objective(s) of the leader at its first level and that is of the follower at the second level. Three level programming results when second level is itself a bi-level programming. By extending this idea it is possible to define multi-level programs with any number of levels. Supply chain planning problem...
